Spring is almost here! We are well into our new year of reading with selection ideas looking great. We have even picked up a new member. Thanks Emily for joining us in our discussions. If anyone else is interested in joining, we’d love to let you jump right in with a book choice. So here is the plan for hosting…

March 24th at 7:00- Trudy chose the book A Hope in the Unseen.  Ron Suskind conducted hundreds of interviews with Cedric, an inner city kid on his way through Ivy League.  Cedric could have easily been a target for violence because he excelled in school.  Cedric’s story shows that the most important step (in life) is to become comfortable in one’s own skin (Memphisreads.blogspot.com).

April 28th at 7:00- Borders, coffee and book perusing! We can meet at Laura’s around 6:30 and car pool.

May 26th at 7:00- Emily has chosen March: A Novel by Geraldine Brooks

Lose It, Finally!

Master You Metabolism by Jillian Michaels will help you shop, eat, and exercise better to lose those last couple pounds.  She lived a life full of diet foods and exercising but didn’t understand what she was actually doing to her metabolism.  We will meet at Janice’s house on the last Wednesday of February, the 24th at 7:00.  Laura will be hosting at Janice’s.  You can email either for directions.

Book Club – October!

Against Medical Advice by James Patterson is about a boy that has an uncontrollable urge to shake his head.  He is now an adult but this book was written so many would understand the fear families have when medical advice seems just as harmful as it is helpful.  We’ll meet at Trudy’s on Thursday, Oct 22 at 6:15.  She’ll provide dinner for all and I’m not sure if we are supposed to bring something.  You could give her a call to see what she needs.
